Safer Parking

Please could we ask all parents driving to and from school to do so with due care and attention at all times. We have recently witnessed some inconsiderate and dangerous driving immediately outside the school gates and along Scotland Lane.

We are very concerned, as this potentially puts the health and safety of our students at risk. It is an extremely busy area at drop-off and collection times, so please be careful and patient at all times.

Thank you very much for your cooperation.

A reminder to all parents that there is no parking in the Bus Lane.

Please see the message below…

As a school we are acutely aware of the issues around slow traffic flow and management at the start and end of the school day in the immediate area around the school site, particularly along Scotland Lane. Unfortunately, there are no simple solutions, and it is in light of this that we write to ask for your support.

To ensure a safer and smoother environment for all our community, we ask that you do not park in:

the dedicated bus lane, the turning circle and the area directly across from the turning circle. These are all areas in which parking is not permitted.

Further to this, can we ask that you consider the following when collecting our students by car:

Parking a short walk away from the school, either further down Scotland Lane towards the reservoir area, or in a suitable place that is not a main thoroughfare for traffic.

Having your son/daughter collected at a time later than 15.35, when the traffic has reduced significantly and there is more space to park close to the school site.  Congestion is substantially reduced 15 minutes after the end of the school day.  The school library is open to students from the end of the school day until 17.00, ensuring they are in a safe and warm environment whilst they wait to be collected from school.

Your support in helping to reduce congestion, supporting our local residents and improving the experience for our students when travelling to and from school would be greatly appreciated.
