Mrs Tolley would like to extend a huge thank you on behalf of Teams 4 You to all those individuals who contributed in making up Christmas shoe boxes this year. An amazing total of 295 shoe boxes were collected this week. 8PSI are this year’s Christmas Shoe Box Champions, having made up 23 shoeboxes – so they will receive a prize and later on the trophy during Prize giving as a result of all their hard work. 8PSI also did a great job of tidying up the finished shoeboxes before loading them onto the van.
The following form groups are all worthy of a mention for their fantastic efforts with the numbers of boxes they managed to produce: 10KJO and 7KEE who were only just pipped to the post by 8BPSI, so are both close runners up. 8AGS, 7AHK and 11MTE were also incredibly generous with the amount of boxes they made up.
Thanks must also go to the Brakewell family for their continued efforts every year.
Many thanks to all students, staff and families who contributed even in a small way – I have lost count of the number of students who have come up to me saying ‘but I only made one box Miss’, but you will probably never know what a difference this will make to a child who otherwise wouldn’t receive anything at all.
Teams4U have informed me that they have beaten the number of boxes they collected last year, with the total exceeding 50,000 shoeboxes! The first lorry left their warehouse in Evesham last weekend. Incidentally, in addition to the Christmas shoebox appeal, Teams4U have also sent over 100 tonnes of humanitarian aid to the Ukraine. Our boxes will be distributed to children and families in the Ukraine.
I am always staggered by our students generosity and willingness to help, and hope that the children receiving them this Christmas find joy in not only the gifts, but in knowing that they are not forgotten.
Thank you everybody.
Mrs Tolley.
